Instituting Family Game Night
It’s important that families get together and have fun in a medium that doesn’t involve a television screen. When families interact with each other, their bond together grows, and it’s been shown that kids who are close to their parents will also listen to their parents when it comes to making difficult decisions that all kids will have to make at some point or another. Parents who share a close bond with their children can communicate to them about drugs, sex, and other issues that will face them later in life. In addition, sharing time together as a family is a whole lot of fun, and there’s no downside to feeling close with family.
Plan a family game night together, and be sure to grab a couple family board games. This is one of the best ways for parents to interact with their children, talk about their lives, and also ensure both kids and parents trust each other. Kids who have strong bonds with their parents are more likely to listen to their parents when necessary.
